Recipe: Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup milk (of your choice - I used whole milk)
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2-3 tbsp white granulated sugar (depending on how sweet you want it)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne powder (add more if you want it extra spicy!!)
Pinch of salt for garnish on top
marshmallows or whipped cream for garnish
PROCESS:
In a medium pot on medium heat, add your milk. Add in your unsweetened cocoa powder, cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla extract and sugar. Whisk together until combined and creamy. Let warm on the stove, stirring occasionally, for around 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add extra sugar if you want it more sweet, more spice if you want it spicier. Once warmed, pour into your favorite mug. Top with whipped cream, extra cayenne and a pinch of salt if desired!
